RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- No. 23 San Diego State jumped out to a 6-1 lead and used that to earn a 13-10 win over California Baptist in Golden Coast Conference action on Satuday afternoon. The Aztecs have won three straight and wrapped up at least a tie for third place in the regular season standings.

The Aztecs (15-13, 4-3) will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming GCC Championship with a Pacific loss to Concordia later Saturday. They will be the No. 4 seed if Pacific defeats Concordia. California Baptist (11-17, 3-4) will be the No. 5 seed.

Rose Kanemy and Claudia Valdes had four points each to lead San Diego State. Kanemy had two goals and two assists, while Valdes had three goals and an assist. Shannon Murphy had three goals. Ava Ratajczak had 11 saves in goal.

Delilah Moreno had four points for CBU, scoring twice with two assists. Cayleigh Carter had a goal and two assists for a three-point day.
 

ROAD TO THE GCC CHAMPIONSHIP

Tickets are on sale now for the 2024 Golden Coast Conference Championship. Santa Clara will host the three-day tournament April 26-28 at the Sullivan Aquatic Center. Brackets and seedings for the 2024 GCC Championship will be announced Saturday night. 

The tournament runs from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. General admission tickets are $15 for each day of action and will be treated as day passes.
