Strong First Pushes Aztecs To Win

San Diego State scores six first quarter goals on the way to 12-8 win over Concordia.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- No. 21 San Diego State used six first quarter goals to set the tone in a 12-8 win over Concordia in Golden Coast Conference action on Friday afternoon in San Diego, Calif.

Six different Aztecs (13-13, 2-3) scored in the first period as they led 6-3. Concordia (10-18, 0-5) managed to cut the lead to one on several occasions, including at 6-5 and 7-6, only to see San Diego State pull away with three straight goals to start the second half.

Rose Kanemy led San Diego State with three goals. Claudia Valdes and Danni Croteau added two each. Tamsyn Evezard had four goals and Andie Perreira had three for Concordia.
