FRESNO, Calif. — No. 8 LMU used a dominant second quarter Saturday to defeat No. 21 Pacific 12-6 in the second semifinal of the Golden Coast Conference Championship, sending the defending tournament champion back to the title match.
Top-seeded LMU (22-4), the 2026 GCC regular-season champion, advanced to its third straight conference championship game and fourth in the last five seasons. The Lions will make their conference-record eighth appearance in the title game Sunday.
LMU will face No. 12 Fresno State Bulldogs for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in five seasons. Fresno State won the first semifinal Saturday, 16-15 over San Diego State.
After falling behind 3-0 midway through the opening quarter, LMU closed the period with three straight goals to tie the match, then seized control with a 5-1 second quarter for an 8-4 halftime lead.
Carolina Magano scored three goals to lead the Lions, while Emison Styris added two and Cila David chipped in two. Madison Searle made 13 saves in the win.
Pacific (11-10) was led by Laia Marsinach Ortega with two goals. Anna Crum, Eleni Ikonomou, Maria Ikonomou and Ella Cowan each added one.
The GCC championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., with Pacific meeting San Diego State Aztecs in the third-place game at 11 a.m.
