Lions Continue Streak with 13-7 Win

No.7 LMU earns 13-7 road win over No. 21 Pacific in GCC play.

STOCKTON, Calif. — In its first conference road swing of the season, No. 7 Loyola Marymount earned a 13-7 win over No. 21 Pacific in Golden Coast Conference action at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

The Lions (17-3, 3-0 GCC) extended their winning streak to 11 games and pushed their regular-season conference winning streak to 19, dating back Apr. 1, 2023.

Loyola Marymount turned a two-goal deficit into control during the middle quarters, outscoring Pacific (9-7, 1-2) 10-2 across the second and third periods.

Cila David scored three of her four goals in the second quarter, helping the Lions erase a 4-2 first-quarter deficit and take a 7-6 halftime lead.

LMU continued the surge in the third, scoring five goals while holding the Tigers scoreless. Emison Styris added two goals in quick succession as the Lions built a 12-6 advantage.

Pacific managed just one goal in the fourth quarter on a score from Laia Marsinach Ortega. Loyola Marymount added one more goal to seal the 13-7 final. After giving up four goals in the opening frame, the Lions outscored Pacific 11-3 in the final three quarter.

David led all scorers with four goals and added an assist for five points. Marsinach Ortega paced Pacific with three goals.
