RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- No. 23 Pacific used a six-goal first quarter on the road against No. 22 California Baptist to help them claim a 13-11 win in a gripping Golden Coast Conference matchup at the Lancer Aquatic Center. The Tigers were led by standout Dora Alaksza, who scored seven goals throughout the match.

Pacific (8-6, 2-1) took an early lead in the first period, scoring six goals, with Alaksza netting four of them. The Lancers struggled to keep pace, managing only one goal in the opening frame. However, California Baptist (9-12, 0-2) fought back in the second period, scoring three goals, including one from Dora Lehoczky, but the Tigers maintained their lead at 8-4 by halftime.

The action heated up in the third period as both teams exchanged goals, with Alicia Petkov contributing to the Tigers' score and Lehoczky responding for the Lancers. The Tigers held a slight edge, leading 11-7 heading into the final quarter. CBU increased the pressure in the fourth period, scoring four goals, but Pacific's two goals, including another from Alaksza, ensured they would secure the win.

Defensively, Pacific's goalie Maja Lizy Dulic made 14 crucial saves, helping to fend off California Baptist's attempts to close the gap. Key players for CBU included Lehoczky, who netted three goals, contributing significantly to the Lancers' offense.
