Concordia Scores Best Finish

Concordia uses fast start to earn 11-7 win over Azusa Pacific in fifth place game.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - No. 5 seed Concordia earned their best finish since joining the Golden Coast Conference, earning an 11-7 win over Azusa Pacific in the fifth place game of the 2023 GCC Women's Water polo Championships Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (16-16) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one and held off an APU rally to earn the win. Madison Ravelo had four goals and two assists for a six-point day. Andie Perreira added four goals for CUI. 

APU (14-13), trailing 6-1, managed to cut the lead to one on two occassions before CUI pulled away at the end. Madeline Schultz had three goals and an assist. Skylar Ford had two goals and an assist.
