Aztecs Advance with 15-8 Win

No. 4 seed and 24th-ranked San Diego State in ninth GCC semifinal with 15-8 win over No. 5 seed Concordia.

No. 4 seed and 24th-ranked San Diego State has been to every semifinal in the 10 year history of the Golden Coast Conference, and they are back. The Aztecs earned a 15-8 win over No. 5 seed Concordia in the third game of the 2023 GCC Women's Water Polo Championships at the Aztec Aquaplex on Friday afternoon.

The Aztecs (12-17) were led by Amanda Legaspi (3 goals, 2 assists) and Rose Kanemy (1 goal, 4 assists) with five points each. Concordia (15-16) were led by Madison Ravelo's four goals.

San Diego State won the first three quarters, taking a 5-2 lead after one, 9-4 at the half and 13-6 after three. Goalie Mandy Lagerlof finished with 13 saves, holding CUI to just two goals in each frame.
