No. 25 San Diego State scored the game's final five goals to lift them to a 12-7 win over Santa Clara in Golden Coast Conference action on Friday afternoon in Santa Clara, Calif.

Tied at 7-7 entering the final quarter, San Diego State (9-14, 2-1) shutout the Broncos (8-15, 0-5) in the final quarter and got three of the final five goals from Amanda Legaspi to earn the win. All three goals for Legaspi came in the final quarter. Claudia Valdes added three points with two goals and an assist.

Kate Rodman led Santa Clara, who posted their own five-goal shutout in the third quarter, with four points, scoring three goals with an assist. Liyara Senadheera had 11 saves for Santa Clara.

San Diego State looked to take control, takinga 6-1 lead just over a minute into the second quarter. Santa Clara would come storming back.

They would go on a 6-1 run, and trailing 7-2 at the half, would score five unanswered in the third quarter to tie the game. Senadheera and the Broncos kept the Aztecs off the board in the third as Rodman would tie it with 1:29 to play.

In the fourth quarter, Legaspi and the Aztecs took control for the win.

The teams combined to go just 1-for-19 on the 6-on-5, with San Diego State going 1-for-10 and SCU going 0-for-9.
