STOCKTON, Calif. -- No. 7 Fresno State used a fast start to lift them to a 10-7 win over No. 12 Pacific in Golden Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs have won eight straight and remain unbeaten in GCC play.
Fresno State (12-7, 5-0) scored the game's first three goals and led 6-1 halfway through the second quarter to push them to the win. Cynthia Rosa and Hailey Andress had three goals each to lead Fresno State.
Pacific (17-6, 2-2) was led by Hila Futorian and Szamira Koppany with two goals each.
Andress, Rosa and Isabella Sonkoly got Fresno State off the the fast start, building the 3-0 lead with 1:58 to play in the first quarter. After Pacific's Alicia Petkov scored to make it 3-1, Fresno State scored three more unanswered boals to lead 6-1 after Kaitlin Howarth's goal with 4:42 to play. in the second quarter.
The Fresno State defense did the rest, holding Pacific to just .212 shooting (7-for-33). Goalie Paula Nieto Jasny made seven saves with a steal.
