Pacific (14-5, 1-1) was led by Szamira Koppany with three goals and an assist. Lucy Davis had a five-point day, scoring twice with three assists.
After the teams played even in the first quarter (2-2), the offense for both teams got hot with a 10-goal second quarter, including Lions going for seven. They opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals to go up 4-2. After Pacific's Koppany scored on a 6-on-5, Ruth Arino Ruiz and Snelgar scored back-to-back again for the Lions, giving them a 6-3 lead.
The pattern continued.
Koppany scored again to cut the lead to 6-4 only to see the Lions post back-to-back goals. This time it was Williams and Isabella Barajas to make to 8-4. The teams would trade goals in the final minute to send the game into halftime with LMU up 9-5.
It was all the cushion the Lions would need as the teams would trade goals the final two quarters, each scoring three in the third and two in the fourth.
