FRESNO, Calif -- No. 8 Fresno State went on an 7-0 run to close out the first half, lifting them to a 15-9 win over Concordia in Golden Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (10-7, 3-0) remain unbeaten as they eanred their sixth straight win on the season and run their unbeaten streak in GCC games (conference match-up and tournament games) to 18. Brooke Ochoa led the Bulldogs with six points, going for three goals and three assists.
Concordia, who entered the game with their own six-game winning streak, was led by Madison Ravelo with three goals and Tatiana Cava with 10 saves.
The teams traded goals to start the first quarter. Kim Reidel tied the game at 3-3 with 3:09 to play in the opening frame.
From there it was all Fresno State. Elisa Grim, Hailey Andress and Jilliam Schultz scored the final three goals of the first quarter to lead 6-3. Cynthia Rosa, Daphne Guevremont, Grim and Ashley Williams all scored in the second quarter for the 10-3 lead. The Bulldogs post a shutout in the frame and would never look back.
