LOS ANGELES - Ruth Arino Ruiz continues her hot start to the season as she had a seven-point day as No. 18 LMU earned another impressive win in Golden Coast Conference, defeating Santa Clara, 16-6, on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Arino Ruiz had three goals and four assists as the Lions built a 12-3 lead late in the first half and never looked back. Yanah Gerber, Marialena Seletopoulou, and London Boyd had two goals each for LMU (7-10, 2-0). Lauren Voss had two goals and Harper Daniels had two assists for Santa Clara (8-11, 0-2).

Santa Clara's Elle Fredrickson scored with 4:22 to play to cut LMU's lead to 3-2. The Lions then score nine of the next 10 goals to put the game away. They scored the final three goals of the first quarter to lead 6-2.

After Santa Clara scored to start the second quarter, the Lions scored five unanswered in the second quarter to lead 11-3 at the half. Alexandra Akritidou scored to start the third quarter for the 12-3 lead.
