RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Host and eighth-seed California Baptist scored six first quarter goals to lift them to a 13-10 victory over seventh-seed Concordia-Irvine in the seventh place game of the 2022 Golden Coast Converence Women's Water Polo Championships on Saturday morning.

Jamie Hutton led the Lancers (13-17) with a five-point game, scoring four goals with an assists. Kira O'Donell added four goals. Kim Reidel had four goals to lead CUI (9-14). Madison Ravelo added three.
CBU scored first in the game on an O'Donell tally and they never looked back in the quarter as they closed the half with back-to-back goals for a 6-3 lead. Kyndall Burrell gave CBU a 7-3 lead with the first goal of the second half before CUI charged back with three straight to make it 7-6 on a Reidel goal with 3:28 to play in the half.
After trading goals, CBU score three straight to take a 10-7 lead. CUI cut the lead to a single goal one last time, 10-9 on a Natalia Stanard goal, but would get no closer.
