#GCCWaterPolo - With the 2022 regular season coming to a close, the seedings and brackets are set for the 2022 Golden Coast Conference Women's Championships, which run from April 22-24 at California Baptist University's Lancer Aquatic Center. With a perfect 7-0 record in GCC play and the regular season title in hand, Fresno State is the top overall seed.
The Bulldogs claimed their second straght regular season title and first outright title as they enter the GCC with a 13-game win streak and an overall mark of 16-7. Rounding out the top-four seeds are No. 2 Pacific (12-10, 6-1), No. 3 LMU (14-11, 5-2) and No. 4 San Diego State (4-3).
There was a three-way tie for fifth between Azusa Pacific (8-15, 2-5), Santa Clara (7-19, 2-5) and Concordia (9-12, 2-5). APU earns the No. 5 seed with the tiebreaker going down to goal differential. Santa Clara then earns the No. 6 seed thanks to the head-to-head victory over Concordia, who is the No. 7 seed. Host California Baptist (12-16, 0-7) is the No. 8 seed.
The 2022 GCC Championships will begin on Friday, April 22 with four first round match-ups.
First Round Games:
The Championships continue on Saturday, Apr. 23, with four more games, including the semifinals at 2 and 4 pm. Championship Sunday will feature the third place game at 11 am and then the title match at 1 pm. Tickets are onsale now in advance or can be purchased at the Lancer Aquatics Center day of the game.
