Pacific's Graham Named Coach of the Year

#GCCWaterPolo - University of the Pacific's Men's Water Polo Head Coach James Graham has been named the 2022 Golden Coast Conference Coach of the Year, as voted on by the league's six head coaches. It's his second on the men's side within the GCC, winnining it in 2017.

Graham led the sixth-ranked Tigers to the 2022 GCC Men's Tournament title and the automatic bid to the 2022 National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championships. Pacific will play in the opening round on Thursday, taking on No. 5 UC Davis at 3 pm. Follow the action here >>.

The Tigers enter the NCAA touranment at 21-6 overall, sharing the regular season title with Long Beach State. Pacific then defeated the Beach in the GCC tournament title game, 12-6. Graham has led Pacific to GCC regular season titles in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022. They won the tournament in 2017 and 2022. 

Graham is in his 14th season and 15th year as the men's water polo head coach at Pacific. He is also in his 11th year as the head coach of the women's water polo team and is the only individual in school history to coach both teams simultaneously. Compiling a combined record of 355-253 during his 14-year tenure with the Orange and Black, Graham has solidified his role as one of the most decorated and successful coaches in Pacific history.
 
For the men, Graham has built the Tigers into one of the nation's elite programs. The Tigers have finished in the Top 10 of the ACWPA Coaches Poll since 2009, including finishing in the top four in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019.
