FRESNO, Calif. -- A six-goal first quarter set the pace for 18th-ranked Fresno State and they used offense to post a 15-10 win over 17th-ranked San Diego State in the third place game of the 2019 Golden Coast Conference Women's Championships.

The Bulldogs (14-15) jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter and set the pace for the rest of the game. The Aztecs scored the next three goals, cutting the lead to 6-4 with 1:56 to play. The teams would trade goals before Trystyn Vuori scored with seven seconds left in the first half to take an 8-5 lead into the locker room.
San Diego State would get no closer.
Fresno State was led by Daphne Guevremont with four goals and Claire Schade with three. Vuori, Emily Nicholson and Callie Woodruff added a pair each. Goalie Mackenzie Richards had 12 saves and helped keep SDSU to 0-for-12 on the 6-on-5 advantage.
