Trailing 6-3 headining into the third quarter, Concordia opened the second half with the first three consecutive goals to tie the game at 6-6. Madison Ravelo scored both of her goals to start the run and Dailynn Santoro scored one of her team-high three goals to tie it with 4:41 to play in the quarter.

Santa Clara's Hailey Eberle scored a pair of goals, the second with 33 seconds left in the quarter to give Santa Clara an 8-7 lead. Buck would give Santa Clara the two-goal lead that would keep Concordia at arms length on a five-meter penalty shot to start the fourth quarter. The teams would trade goals from there.
