FRESNO, Calif. -- Second-seed San Diego State used a 5-1 opening quarter to lead them to a 10-7 victory over seventh-seed Santa Clara in game two of the 2019 Golden Coast Conference Women's Championships at Fresno State University on Friday afternoon.

San Diego State was led by their All-Conference leaders. Emily Bennett, a first-team All-GCC selection, and Hannah Carrillo, a second-team All-GCC selection, had three goals each. Second-team All-GCC goalie Maura Canotoni had 16 saves in the win. The Aztecs advance to Saturday's first semifinal against LMU at 2:30 pm.
Santa Clara was led by Maggie Oys with three goals and Gabi Sicat with two. The Broncos will take on California Baptist at 11:00 am in the first consolation semifinal on Saturday.
The Aztecs scored the game's first three goals and took a 5-1 lead with 1:55 to play in the first quarter on a Bennett tally. The teams would trade goals until back-to-back goals by Oys cut the Aztec lead to just a pair, 7-5, with 2:01 to play in the third.
Bennett and the Aztecs answered with three straight goals to put the game out of reach.
