Fast Start Pushes Aztecs to Third

LOS ANGELES -- San Diego State used a fast start to earn a third place finish at the 2018 Golden Coast Conference Women's Water Polo Championships. The Aztecs (15-16) scored the game's first seven goals on their way to an 8-5 win over Azusa Pacific on Sunday afternoon.

Emily Bennett led all scorers with three goals, adding an assist and four steals. Bennett scored the game's first two goals to help the Aztecs post a 7-0 lead with 3:56 to play in the third quarter. Azusa Pacific (16-14) scored the game's final four goals for the final margin.

Mireia Tutusaus Alcaraz led APU with two goals.
