STOCKTON, Calif. - Third-seeded Pacific jumped out to a 6-1 lead and kept at arms length to earn a 12-9 win over No. 5 seed California Baptist to claim third place at the 2015 Golden Coast Conference Championships at Chris Kjeldsen Pool on Saturday afternoon.
Pacific finishes the season winners nine of their last 10 and concludes with an overall record of 16-10. The Lancers finish the tournament in fourth place and 20-15 overall on the season.
Co-Player of the Year Anna Kertes provided the big push for the Tigers, scoring three of her five goals in the third quarter to keep the Lancers at arms length. Michele Relton added 14 saves in the win.
The Lancers managed to cut the lead to a pair, 7-5, after Hannah Evans scored. Evans, Valerie Spezzaferri and Jessica Castellano led the Lancers with two goals each.
Pacific answered with three straight goals, all by Kertes, to put the game out of reach.
