LOS ANGELES -- The fifth-seeded Pacific Tigers outscored the fourth-seeded California Baptist Lancer 6-1 in the final 12 minutes of the game to earn an 11-7 victory in the final game of the first round of the 2014 Golden Coast Conference Championships on Thursday afternoon.

Trailing 6-5, Gracie Smith scored with 3:37 to play in the third quarter to start a 6 to 1 run for the Tigers, lifting them to the GCC Championships second semifinal on Friday against top-seeded San Diego State at 2:30 pm.

Smith would score again about two minutes later to give Pacific a 7-6 lead, one they would not let go of. Megan Torre added on another with 57 seconds left in the third for an 8-6 lead.

California Baptist, who was led by Samantha Banks with three goals, cut the lead to 8-7 on a goal from Hannah Evans with 37 seconds to play in the third frame.

That would be it as Meghan Nee made 10 saves for the Tigers and posted the fourth quarter shutout.
